Tulsa, OK – July 28, 2021 –

Round six of the 2021 MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship starts this Friday at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minnesota. Yamaha YZF-R1 Superbike rider Mathew Scholtz and YZF-R3 Junior Cup rider Jack Roach, along with the entire crew, are excitedly anticipating spending the weekend at a new venue on the schedule, especially one with such a rich history in motorcycle road racing.

With six podium finishes in ten races so far this season, Mathew is currently ranked second in the season point standings. He’s looking for two wins in Minnesota in order to close the gap to current championship leader Jake Gagne.

“Brainerd is a new track for us,” Mathew said. “But we tested here a few weeks ago, and we’ll be testing all day on Thursday prior to the race weekend. We’ll put in the laps and fine-tune the settings on the bike so that we’re dialed in and ready to go. The goal is two podium finishes and hopefully those two results are race wins. We’ve got the team and the bike to do it, so let’s go racing.”

Superbike final qualifying is on Saturday morning at 10:20 a.m. CT. Superbike race one will go green on Saturday afternoon at 3:10 p.m. CT and will be broadcast via tape delay on FOX Sports 2 (FS2) at 8 p.m. CT. Superbike race two is on Sunday afternoon also at 3:10 p.m. PT and will be broadcast via tape delay on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) at 7:30 p.m. CT. In addition, both races will be streamed on MotoAmerica Live+.

Jack has been putting in the extra laps to prepare for Brainerd’s high-speed circuit, and that includes working with his personal riding coach to hone his racecraft and perfect his cornering speed.

“I’m very excited to race at Brainerd this weekend,” Jack said. “I’m looking to be fast straight out of the gate and keep the momentum rolling throughout the weekend. Also, I’ve been to this track before, so I think I’ll have a bit of an advantage over most of the other riders. I’ve been training hard for this round, and a special thank you goes to my riding coach Michael Carder for helping me prepare for this round.”

Junior Cup race one starts on Saturday at 5:10 p.m. CT, and Junior Cup race two is on Sunday at 3 p.m. CT. Both races will be broadcast via tape-delay on FS2 this Tuesday, August 3, beginning at 5 p.m. ET.
